The Cheetah Girls evolved with excitement and success through many different vehicles. It started off as being a collection of books following the adventures of a glittery all-girls teenage pop band. Later, it became a made-for-TV movie by Disney in 2003, eventually becoming an actual touring band playing live gigs. The Cheetah Girls' journey gathered momentum and exploded onto the teen pop scene. Originally, the girls on the original Cheetah Girls book covers were from another teen girl band, Before Dark. The look has been perfected over time, and the girls now comprise a glamorous mosaic of pink bubbliness, black silk, blonde hair and snazzy get-ups.

The members of the band: Raven-Symoné (Galleria) is the leader of the Cheetah Girls. Adrienne Bailon plays Chanel, known for her braids. Kiely Williams (Aquanetta) of the group 3LW is the trendsetter, and Sabrina Bryan (Dorinda) is the wide-eyed baby. The Cheetah Girls 2005 Christmas album Cheetah-licious Christmas, and the Cheetah Girls 2 movie and soundtrack, which were released in 2006, following the fantastic double-platinum success of their initial movie. The Cheetah Girls were suddenly rendered a dynamic "real time" living entity with a mind of their own.
